Welcome to my very first hand-coded website. This site serves as both a temporary gallery of my various works and an example of my web coding abilities. Be forewarned that I am but a lowly novice when it comes to web code, so this site may not function perfectly, but hey, I have come a lot way from the days when it was all complete gibberish! It's been really fun to learn.
I will soon be constructing a more solid, professional website, but for now, please enjoy this temporary gallery of my widely varied body of work.
I am currently taking clients for freelance illustration and graphic design work, or whatever creative project you'd like me to tackle! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Lauren. I love to create.
The daughter of a musician/craftsman and an artist, I grew up with a lot of encouragement to be creative. After dabbling with the piano, woodworking, backetweaving, jewelry making and you-name-it, I settled into a passion for painting and other "fine art" endeavors as a teen. As a young adult I delved deep into the world of oil paint and mixed media assemblage. I earned a BA in Fine Art from Western Washington University in 2006. For over a decade I stretched my own canvases, created dozens of paintings, and showed my artwork in local businesses around Seattle. It was wonderful but challenging; I could never manage to let go of my waitressing job that paid the bills.

Now in my 30s, I decided to take a sharp turn with my creative pursuasion by beginning a new career as a graphic designer and illustrator. I will graduate in September 2018 with an associate's degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Seattle. I have learned so many new skills, which are listed below.
As a blossoming graphic designer, I couldn't be happier. I know for certain that I have landed on the correct path; I have found my calling. I look forward to taking on new and challenging projects. Please get in touch with me so we can work together and create something great!
